Cecil College to Host Region XX DII Tournament

Cecil College Athletics' is honored to have the opportunity to host the NJCAA Region XX Division II men's and women's basketball tournament for the second year in a row. We hope that you will join us to experience some of this season's most competitive match-ups!

It is our pleasure to have sixteen of the top men's and women's basketball programs in Region XX join us this weekend. We will kick off the excitement on Thursday afternoon with the women's tournament that will include: Chespeake College, CCBC  Catonsville, Potomac State College of WVU, Frederick Community College, Montgomery College, Hagerstown Community College, College of Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia Community College. Friday afternoon will feature the men's tournament that will include: Potomac State College of WVU, Community College of Beaver County, Garrett College, Frederick Community College, Northern Virginia Commuinty College, Cecil College, Montgomery College, and Chesapeake College.

These programs will be competing for a spot in Saturday's semi-final rounds with the hope of advancing to Championship Sunday, where we will name our NJCAA Region XX Champions and competitors in the National Tournaments. Cecil College men's basketball heads into the tournament as the #6 seed, facing the Lakers of Garret College on Friday, March 8 at 4:00 p.m. In their last meeting in late January, the Seahawks narrowly defeated the Lakers 86-84 with a last-second, game-winning basket.

Admission to the tournament will be $7.00 per day, per person or a tournament pass can be purchased for $15.00 which includes admission for all games March 7-10. Children 10 and under are admitted free of charge.
