Bio
Eric Watson is in his first season as an assistant coach at Cecil.
Eric Watson serves as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and Head of Player Development at Cecil College, bringing a high-level player development background built on skill training, strength & conditioning, and competitive mindset. Known for his detail, energy, and ability to connect with athletes, Watson helps players sharpen their fundamentals, improve their confidence, and develop the habits needed to compete at the next level.
A former college basketball player, Watson competed at Tennessee State University and West Chester University, giving him firsthand experience of the demands of college basketball — from preparation and discipline to toughness, leadership, and accountability. That playing background continues to shape his coaching philosophy and the standard he brings to every workout and practice environment.
In addition to coaching, Watson is the founder of Fit Six Training, a player development program focused on improving athletes both physically and mentally. Through Fit Six, he has trained and developed numerous players who went on to compete professionally and at the NCAA level. His notable athletes include Jamelle Haggins (University of Delaware), Marvin King-Davis (University of Delaware), Dom Morris (Boston University), Darrel Lewis (Lincoln University), Deon Edwin (Kent State University), Javier Martinez (Tennessee-Martin), John Allen (Seton Hall University), Norville Carey (Rider University), Tony Washam (St. Vincent’s University), Paris Horne (St. John’s University), Alison Lewis (University of Delaware), and Phil Gephart (Wilmington University). He has also worked with current and recent college standouts including Taariq Cephas (Coppin State University), Myles Cale (Seton Hall University), Jamir Moultrie (La Salle University), Joe Colangelo (Marywood University), and Jordan Harding (Wilmington University), along with women’s players such as Olivia Gumbs (George Washington University), Danielle Roberts (University of Delaware), and Grace Lange (Villanova University).
Watson has coached across both high school and college basketball, including roles at Delaware Technical Community College (Assistant Coach / Strength & Conditioning), Camden County College, and several respected Delaware programs. At Cecil College, he supports all areas of the men’s basketball program with an emphasis on player development, conditioning, and building a tough, disciplined culture.
