Mitzel, a native of Massey, Md. and a 2019 graduate of Kent County High School is currently in freshman runner on Cecil College's inaugural cross country team. In four meets this season, Daniel has been the top male runner from Cecil College in all but the first race. He cross the finish line in his debut 5k with a time of 24:55 and followed up with three 8k races at 35:22, 34:35, and a personal-best 32:37 at Hood College on October 19. Mitzel's 34:35 finish at Goucher College earned him the 8th place trophy. Cross country will finish up their inaugural season at the conference and region championships at Hagerstown Community College on October 26.
The Cecil College men's & women's cross country teams competed in their third meet of the season on Saturday, October 5 at Goucher College's annual Cross Country Classic. Three male and three female runners from Cecil College participated in the event through Goucher's campus and scenic wooded trails in Baltimore, Maryland.
