Chad Zearfoss Named Head Softball Coach

Chad Zearfoss has accepted the position as the new head coach of the Cecil College softball team.

 

"I'm very excited about the opportunity to be the head softball coach at Cecil College. The softball program has so much potential with its great facilities and an administration that supports athletics," said Zearfoss. "The future is bright and I can't wait to start working with our team!"  

 

Zearfoss comes to Cecil after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Salem Community College. Under his guidance, he helped turn a program with zero returners or recruits signed for the 2022 season into a team that won a program record 16 games in 2023. The Mighty Oaks went on to smash that mark in 2024, winning 31 contests and earning a trip to the Region 19 Division 2 Tournament.

 

A Gloucester City native, Zearfoss is well connected within the New Jersey sports scene. He has served as a coach for several different local programs dating back to 2003, including softball, baseball, football, and wrestling. His most recent stop came with the Gloucester City Lady Brawlers Softball Organization, where he has served as the head coach since 2018.
