WYE MILLS, Md. - Cecil softball wrapped up its regular season with a pair of dominate victories over the Chesapeake Skipjacks.
The Seahawks head into the postseason with an 18-10 record and a 13-5 mark against Region 20 competition.
Game One - Cecil 11, Chesapeake 1
Taylor Stapleford struck out 13 batters, while Cecil's offensive produced 11 runs in the opener. The Seahawks also recorded 11 hits and 10 walks.
Malea Ferdinando recorded her first collegiate home run and drove home two. Keira Wolfe, Gabriella Smith, and Keira Fendt grabbed doubles. Fendt topped the team with three RBI.
Game Two - Cecil 20, Chesapeake 2
The Seahawks put on a show in game two, scoring 20 runs for the third time this year. Cecil's bats produced a season high seven extra-base hits, led by a home run and a double from Gabriella Smith. Kylee Bergman and three hits, including a triple, and three RBI. Keira Fendt mashed her first collegiate homer and also chipped in three RBI.
From the circle, Taja Souza (6-5) struck out five Skipjacks over as many innings to take the win.
