Taylor Stapleford Named NJCAA All-American
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The National Junior College Athletic Association announced its All-Americans for the 2026 season on Wednesday afternoon. Cecil's Taylor Stapleford was named to the NJCAA Division 2 Third Team, the first time a Seahawk has earned this honor since Katie Ferguson back in 2010.
Stapleford secured 17 wins from the circle in 22 appearances (21 starts). The freshman tossed 225 strikeouts, the most in Region 20 and third-most among all NJCAA Division 2 programs. Stapleford's 12.70 K/7 led the entire NJCAA. She threw 12 complete games, two no-hitters and one combined no-hitter. Stapleford dealt at least 10 strikeouts on 12 occasions and had three additional games with nine strikeouts.
At the plate, Stapleford hit .333 with 17 walks and three doubles. She posted the second best on-base percentage (.488) for the Seahawks.
Stapleford won both Region 20 Player of the Month awards in 2026. She was named First Team All-Region 20 and was selected First Team All-NFCA East Region.
