NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil women's basketball split their Region 20 road trip to Western Pennsylvania, defeating Westmoreland County on Saturday before losing to Beaver County on Sunday.
The Seahawks are now 3-4 (2-1 R20) after last weekend's results.
Cecil 96, Westmoreland County 46
Seven Seahawks finished in double figures during Cecil's blowout win over the Westmoreland Wolfpack to start the weekend.
Ja'Mya Muhammad led the way with 15 points and six assists. However, it was Cecil's bench that did most of the damage, with five players combining for 57 points. The effort included a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) from Kendra Watters and 14 points via Ramiya Malik.
The Seahawks defense forced 36 turnovers with Watters leading the effort on five steals.
Beaver County 69, Cecil 55
Led by two of the top leading scorers in R20, the Titans handed Cecil their first R20 loss of the season. Beaver County outscored the Seahawks 18-9 in third quarter in what was an otherwise close contest.
Ja'Mya Muhammad topped Cecil with 18 points and nine rebounds. Watteres led the reserves with five points and eight rebounds.
