Two Seahawks Garner All-Region 20 Honors
NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil women's basketball freshman Bri Shelton and Ja'Mya Muhammad have been voted to the All-Region 20 Division 2 Team, as announced by region officials on Wednesday.
Bri Shelton | Second Team | Freshman | Guard
Shelton led the Seahawks with 16.7 points per game and led R20 with 107 made threes. The frosh finished second on the team with 48 steals and fifth with 108 rebounds. Shelton finished in double figures 22 times, including 31 points her collegiate debut against Delaware Tech. She scored a season high 33 points against R20 champion CCBC-Essex on Dec. 10. Shelton finished nine additional contests with 20 points or more.
Ja'Mya Muhammad | Honorable Mention | Freshman | Guard
Muhammad topped Cecil with 8.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Her 14.7 points per game were second on the team. Muhammad's 111 made free throws are the fifth most of any R20 player. The frosh guard ended the season with seven point-rebound double-doubles and ended five additonal games with nine rebounds. Muhammad dropped a season high 28 points against Monroe CC in her second collegiate game and was the leading scorers in Cecil's R20 quarterfinal contest against Chesapeake.
