NORTH EAST - Cecil College volleyball battled to its first win of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Westmoreland in straight sets to cap off its home tri-match.
The Seahawks escaped the first set with a 26-24 victory, staving off defeat with an eight-point rally to end the set. Cecil soared to its best frame of the year in set two, collecting 16 kills for a 25-16 win. The Seahawks took the match with the same scoreline in the third.
Etta Harris topped all players with 13 kills, while Rachel Mullins steared the offense with 30 assists. Katarina Kuchera led the defense with 17 digs.
The Seahawks improve to 1-5 (1-2 R20) on the year with the victory.
