NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil baseball limited Allegheny County to just two runs across as many games, leading to a pair of victories over the Wildcats.
The Seahawks bump up to 8-6 after the wins.
Game One - Cecil 8, Allegheny County 1
Ty Whittaker (2-1) hurled six innings and struck out seven to hand Cecil a win in the opener.
Sophomore outfielder Chris Woods led the offense with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Matt Jackson collected two RBI, scored twice, and walked two times.
Mason Burlingame closed out the seventh in a commanding fashion, striking out a pair of Wildcats two retire the side.
Game Two - Cecil 14, Allegheny County 1
Jevin Seifert's grand slam in the bottom of the fifth highlighed a six-run fifth, boosting the Seahawks to a mercy rule victory in the closing contest.
Seifert, Chris Woods, and Matt Jackson ended with two hits each. Kaden Kemp tallied to RBI.
On the mound, Wyatt McDowell (1-0) struck out four while allowing one unearned run on four hits.
