Seahawks Take One of Two From Garrett
MCHENRY, Md. - Cecil took on the Garrett Lakers Saturday afternoon, pulling off a victory in game two.
Cecil is now 23-27 (11-15 Region 20) after the twinbill.
Game One - Garrett 7, Cecil 3
The Seahawks stranded 19 runners on base in the opener. They scored all of their runs in the third inning thanks to a two-RBI single by Andrew Baldini and a sacrifice fly from Cody Kunca. Mason Richter chipped in two hits.
Wyatt McDowell (4-4) was stuck with the loss from the hill. Kyle Hyre struck out a pair and did not allow a run over two innings out of the bullpen.
Game Two - Cecil 2, Garrett 1
Cecil punched through two runs in the top of the seventh, then held on to defeat the Lakers in game two. An RBI groundout from Cody Kunca and a Garrett error brought home the pair.
Ty Whittaker (5-2) pinned down the Lakers offense for seven innings. The sophomore right-hander struck out for while allowing just one run one three hits.
Mason Richter, Andrew Baldini, and Christian Kleckner tagged the host for two hits each. Matt Jackson and Chris Woods swiped one bag apiece.
